Personal Philosophy

Public service is a way of life for Jim Patterson. He has served his community, contributed without being asked, and led by example throughout the 40 years he has lived and worked in San Luis Obispo County.

To Jim, personal actions and individual commitments speak much louder than words.

Whether it comes to spending weekends cleaning up local trails and streams, or lending a hand at local charity fund-raising events, or pitching in to help paint a neighbor’s deck, Jim has always believed that the most honest route to self improvement is through public service and helping others.

Honesty, modesty, humility and honor: These are the traits that inform Jim’s thinking and define his character.
